It was a little disheartening. I had an amazing time at yoga, and then one call from Andrew had me feeling like “Bitter Betty” [yes, that is something that Andrew calls me when I’m in a mood with him]. Lately I’ve been feeling very annoyed with him [but that’s for a whole other post ;)] and last night was really no exception. I rushed over to his place to go see the apartment with his parents, and it was a little disorganized as there seemed to be a bit of miscommunication.
Anyways we get into the place, and it’s tiny. We’ll obviously make do, but because of the mood that I was in, and because it wasn’t anything like I imagined [damn that imagination!], it was just a bit more than Bitter Betty could handle. And besides the fact that it was raining steadily and heavy and it was just… meh feeling.
Narrow narrow narrow! |
Onto a description of the place! It is narrow. I think that’s the thing that stood out for me the most. It’s narrow. The only room in the place that isn’t narrow is the “bigger” bedroom, and it’s just big enough to fit my bed. I’m thinking that all the doors in the place might be coming off just so we don’t have to worry about banging into them. I think I also want to place the whole thing a bright white, to make the place seem less… basement-like. It was very hard to imagine because the current tenant has so much stuff in there, but I do think that we shall make do. Some of the original ideas just aren’t going to work out, so I’m going to have to think about the furniture that I can bring and what he can bring.
The thing that I’m worried about is apparently the current tenant had an issue with mold in the closets?? It does smell a little musty down there, and I’m just worried about my clothes smelling… Because I own some expensive stuff. And who wants to smell like mold at work?
So, things that will be needed:
– Closet fresheners
– Dehumidifier
– A can of bright, light paint
– Smaller tables…
– Shelving in the bathroom
