Fashion Friday & Other Things

Ahh it’s the beginning of another long weekend! I love how in there is one [almost] every month. This weekend’s is celebrating our fair nation that is Canada. And all that it encompasses. So… bring on the cottage life, bacon, beer… Yup that about sums it up. Luckily for me, my long weekend started last night. I took the day off at work and headed up to the cottage with Andrew last night. After a relaxing yoga class, I went straight to his house.

I’m just so happy that I’m getting out of the city, and spending time with Andrew. Hopefully this will make up for the failure that was last weekend. <3 Although, we finally got together on Tuesday night and it was so good. We exchanged cards, and he had a couple surprises for me. He bought me Harper’s Bazaar Greatest Hits [I love coffee table books, especially about fashion…!] and he also gave me all the postcards he had got for me from his work travels!

It’s funny because this time last year I was complaining about the cottage and how I didn’t seem like I “fit” up there. [Apparently something that didn’t make it onto my blog…] Now though, I’ve done a complete 180, and can’t wait for the times that we actually get up there. I love that I get out of the city, and have a completely relaxing, away from life weekend.

Going around clockwise: Philosophy Falling in Love Perfume, Nars Eye Primer, Philosophy face wash system, Laura Mercier mattifying powder, Smashbox eye liner pen, Nars blush in Orgasm (all photos from Sephora)
This week, I’ve been more into make up lately, so here’s a wishlist of things if I had more money! I’m dying to try out anything from Nars, especially their Orgasm blush. I hear such amazing things about it on the blogosphere, and I wish. I just can’t justify any of those purchases right now… Except maybe the face wash. Hopefully mine will run out soon… I finished the Bliss face pads.. In my last post about makeup I mentioned that I bought the Maybelline version of the eye liner pen and was less than impressed. So I’d like to try another one. But that will obviously have to wait. Cheap is good for right now.
Things I liked:
– This DIY for a heart bracelet. Yes please! via I.Spy.DIY.
– I am definitely guilty of this eyeliner faux-pas via The Beauty Department
– I am going to make this a prerequisite for any future house I choose via Burlap and Blue
– There is just something so cool about white sheets, and the tank top is pretty awesome too! via Spell and the Gypsy Collective
Things I plan on doing:
– This weekend is all about the relaxing and having a drank. Bring on the mimosas and delicious fruits! But that doesn’t mean that I’m going to slack off with my work out routine. A run in the woods? Bring it on!
– Getting a crack on reading again. I’m over halfway through the year and am definitely not halfway through 50…
– Get back/start on my photography… I might need to cave on the shopping and buy a battery for this beast!
– Start thinking of how I want to arrange the postcards from Andrew. They need to be put up on my wall somewhere!
Happy long weekend!
