Beauty :: Schmidt’s Deodorant

I found out about the Schmidt’s brand from another blog, and it sounded so interesting!

I’m at the point where I’m trying to cut out unnecessary evils in my life – in every aspect of my life. So trying out more natural deodorants has been on my to-do list for a while. I finally took the splurge and purchased Schmidt’s fragrance free deodorant from Urban Outfitters.

The Breakdown:

Crafted by hand in the Pacific Northwest, Schmidt’s deodorant is made from a signature blend of 100% all natural ingredients that really work. The creamy formula effectively neutralizes underarm odor and absorbs wetness without the use of aluminum or other harmful chemicals. With a unique and enticing range of natural scent combinations, Schmidt’s deodorant is vegan, cruelty-free, propylene glycol-free, paraben-free and phthalate-free! – Urban Outfitters

Pros:

  • Actually fragrance free
  • Fairly easy to apply
  • Definitely made my underarms feel smooth and soft
  • No gross product clumping
  • Also comes in a stick format!!
  • Did seem to mask any odours

Cons:

  • Hard to tell how much product to apply (but you get better at it)
  • Need to warm it up between fingers before applying
  • Allergic to it! 🙁

Overall:

And it was great! For about 3 weeks. Then my one underarm started getting extremely itchy, so I stopped using it. Upsetting because the product isn’t that cheap, and I still have so much! I might have to try it again, or if any one wants it.. let me know? Seems like a weird thing to give away… I wish that my body didn’t hate it, and I specifically bought the fragrance free to not be allergic to it. Ah well.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone, but if you have a sensitivity at all, I’d exercise caution! Perhaps go for a cheaper, not-only-online brand first. I’ve got more reviews coming up!
