Beauty :: L’Oreal Gentle Make Up Remover Review

Loreal Remover

I’ve been thinking about this post for awhile. I go to write it, think about it and then leave it untouched. I’m not sure why I’m so hesitant to write this one. It’s not like I hate this product. I don’t have a scathing review to write. But then, maybe that’s why. I’m not really pumped about this product.

Before shaking – clearly two different colours

I first bought this a couple weeks ago, and because I’ve been wearing makeup regularly again I’ve been using this product almost every day. At first I was really excited because it works. It’s one of the newer styles of eye makeup remover, where you have the two levels of cleaner – and it’s more oil based. It does take off all traces of makeup, and while it doesn’t completely remove all of my test mascara [They’re Real by Benefit] it did a fairly good job. Much better than others in the past. I enjoy the dual-action oil based remover, it feels nice on the eyes, and once you wash your face the slight oiliness disappears.

Once shook and ready for use.

The one flaw that I have with this make up remover is that it makes my eyes feel cloudy. This might just be my eyes and the fact that my sight is slowly getting worse, but it sometimes feels like there is a film over my eyes. Doesn’t last, obviously, but it’s a little disconcerting. The one flaw that I found with the bottle design is the fact that when you go to put it on a cotton pad it goes every where, but the pad.  It’s very annoying. I feel like half the bottle has gone down the drain or onto my hands. It’s a little easier to manage now that there isn’t as much product in the bottle but it’s still annoying. I feel like it shouldn’t be so rectangular a bottle, perhaps.

So, overall it’s a good remover. I don’t think this would be a repurchase for me just because of the bottle design. If they changed that, then perhaps I’d look into it again. Have you tried this one? What do you think of the bottle design and the product?
