Review :: L’Occitane Hand and Foot Cream

L'Occitane Cream1
What a godsend. I have possibly the worst dry skin ever. As I mentioned in last week’s beauty post, I have eczema [actually both my brother and I both have it, sometimes I think his is worse] and I work in an environment where I’m constantly using my hands – paper, filing, and using sanitizer so they get dry pretty darn quick. I was using a Vaseline hand cream, but decided to switch it up. I was going through it quickly, and though it only costs $3 it was a smaller tube and wasn’t cost effective.

Then, I ran out and decided to use a hand cream [The Body Shop Almond hand cream] that I didn’t like the smell of before so just stashed it in my drawer at work. Big. Mistake. I never liked the scent of it, made me sneeze and my nose run, but this time it make the back of my hands break out in an awful rash! It looked terrible for days, and I’m still getting over the damage.

So I decided, it was time to splurge. I needed a hand cream that I knew wouldn’t irritate my skin, or my nose and was super moisturising. Tried and true, as they say. Granted, the price tag is a little steep at $30 for the 150 mL tube, but a little goes a long way, and I’m going to see how long it really lasts. I use it probably 3 times a day, using about a dime sized amount. I will post an update when it finally runs out so that I know how long a tube actually lasts.

I then splurged out on the foot cream. My feet – shameful. It wasn’t a purchase that I was going to make, but when I was there I figured, why not? Summer is coming, and it’ll soon be sandal and flat wearing season. And my feet are definitely not ready for sandals. Or really to be seen by anyone. I haven’t been as diligent with this application as I should, mainly because I’ve been going to bed so darn late that I just collapse into bed. But I should stop doing that and use it more often again. I have used it, and really am enjoying it. The scent is different from the hand cream, more of an intense smell, but it’s not overpowering. And if I keep up the regular use I know that my feet will be super soft.

I can’t wait til summer to show them off! Pretty manicures and pedicures equals perfect summer-ness. Come on, Summer!!
