Beauty :: Covergirl Holiday Set

This was a little bit of a surprise gift from my mom. Or maybe it was just her re-gifting me something because I’d actually use it, since she rarely does her nails.

I wasn’t sure how much I would like the colours of this set, but I have to say that the colours are all gorgeous, and have some serious staying power. Probably the longest lasting polish I have, as long as I don’t mess up during application. I apply a base coat, two coats of colour and then finish with a top coat. Even doing dishes, I’m still chip free 1 week later.

Inferno
 These are glitter based polishes, so they are a little difficult to remove, but definitely not the worst that I’ve tried to remove. I’m not a big fan of glitter, but at this time of the year, who doesn’t want to be covered in glitter or sequins of some kind? I spent most of this holiday covered in glitter from writing out cards, so what’s a little more sparkle on my nails?

Black Heat
 Of the three colours, I’m surprised to say that I really loved the gold colour. It’s technically called “Scalding Emerald” but there was very little green to warrant that name, although it did look really green in the bottle. I think that the black gold colour will get the most wear during the rest of the winter season, and perhaps even all year round, depending how I’m feeling. The red is the absolute perfect Christmas red too, and makes me feel the Christmas spirit every time I look down at my hands.

Have you ever tried a nail colour from CoverGirl? These have me tempted to purchase more colours. And their prices seem reasonable, at $6 each.
