I finally made the plunge for the Bumble & Bumble surf spray, but I wasn’t willing to drop all the money on just one product to find out that I didn’t like it [regardless of the internet love for it]. The one thing about Sephora is that they have great value sets. I ended up picking up the sample sizes of the Surf line – shampoo, conditioner and spray.

I’ve been using all of these products consistently for about a month, and I must say I love the Surf Spray, and the shampoo/conditioner has grown on me. I wasn’t too crazy about it, but I’ve got a routine down pat now. Granted, I am not using the shampoo on it’s own. I do a pre-wash with Head and Shoulders because my scalp hates life. The shampoo definitely makes my hair feel clean but it seems to add a bit of a gritty feel to it, almost like what salt would do to your hair with out the drying tendency. The conditioner is really good. I leave it on for a couple minutes and my hair feels silky and is easy to comb. I don’t know if it’s worth the money to buy the shampoo again, but the conditioner I think is worth the money.
Oh, random thought, I have tried just the conditioner on it’s own [with the Head & Shoulders] and it didn’t seem to make a huge difference. I feel it does work much better in tandem with the shampoo. Also, the scent is quite nice, and light. Definitely doesn’t feel like you’re dumping the ocean on your head.

This was the main reason that I bought the set, for the surf spray, and it’s lived up to the expectations of the Internet world. I really like this one, and I will most likely add this to my rebuy list, or at least my wishlist of things I want… in case I’m feeling poor. I use a blowdryer with a diffuser because I’m mostly too lazy to wait for my hair to dry. One day maybe I’ll be able to follow the instructions and use a sea breeze to dry my hair out. This is really easy to use, just a couple sprays evenly around my head, and a bit of a scrunch with my hands. Just one word of caution, if you don’t fully dry your hair before going to bed… this will make your hair look a little crazy in the morning… If so a quick spray with a water bottle will help tame those tresses!
Would you be buying any of these products? What are your thoughts on the Surf set?
