So the house has sold [if you follow on Twitter, you might have caught that tweet]. Pretty crazy, it was conditional on a house inspection, but that’s happening today, so I definitely have to move out! There’s no SOLD sign yet on the property, I guess that will happen once the paperwork starts going through. I will post a picture once that happens for sure!
[edited to note: the house passed inspection so we are definitely moving out!]
This has really put the pressure on all of us, but me in particular. We all have to find places to live now, and I have a month to do it in! I want to be out of the house by May 1st (or around there) because our closing day is May 18th. Seems so close, yet so far.
This weekend, between Andrew coming home, school work and studying, I can fit a little bit of packing in there. Mostly books, because that’s what’s exciting. And easily packed into boxes. Clothing can really just wait until I’m ready to move because I’m just going to shove it all into garbage bags. Not the nicest way to pack, and rather reminscent of college days, but it’s easiest. Everything else can go in boxes, and nice things can go in suitcases.
I have about 13 apartments that I want to go check out, and Mom and I went and did stalkerish drive-bys and wandered around getting information [or trying to]. We actually ended up not going to all the ones on my list [being cold and hungry], but found new ones in the same area as other ones that didn’t have vacancy. That’s the good thing about having lots to check out, just in case some don’t have vacancy.
There were some really awesome ones, some that were ok and liveable, and actually none that you went “Omg, there’s no way I can live here” [which is even more awesome]. So now to actually call and talk to someone, not just creep in the doorways. This is really exciting. I’m just imagining my life moving out, and actually LIVING on my own.. Daunting, but amazing [in my head, at least].
