Friday :: Foodie Craze

Today, I think it’s going to be all about the food. I need inspiration to cook [and eat] now that my schedule has returned to it’s hectic phase. I can’t afford to keep eating out all the time, although the occasional Timmie’s coffee won’t break the bank, as long as it’s occasional.

I find it really hard to make meals at night after work, so I find myself drawn to meals that can keep. Like lasagna, cabbage rolls, and stuff like that. The only problem with that is then I get tired of the same old meal, day in, day out.

I took to Pinterest for meal ideas, which had me drooling, and yet to cook one of them. I’m having a craving that I’m probably going to cook up some pasta tonight. With sausage. And broccoli? I’m getting hungry just posting this! This week I’ve been living off beef patties, because they’re easy to make. Not a well rounded meal though.

All pictures are via Pinterest. So om noms.

Some inspiration from the blogs that I read are looking delicious too!

Joy the Baker – Fried Guacomole
Brown Eyed Baker – Clif Bars
Cider with Rosie – One Pan Breakfast
Kitten Bear – Iced Vovos
A Beautiful Mess – Pumpkin Spice Creme Brulee
A Beautiful Mess – Fruit Galettes

I might make some of these things, but only if I have some company to eat them with. I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to go and buy pre-made meals. Not the frozen kind, but the stuff that grocery stores make that day. Since I can’t do the cooking/don’t have time, I still want to eat healthy. And it won’t be that much more expensive than what I’m wasting because I’m not eating the food that I buy and don’t make anything with. I’m definitely going to give that a try. Bought a roast chicken already and I’m going to make up some veggies to go with it!

How did you manage eating and cooking when you lived on your own, and had a hectic schedule?
