It’s been awhile since I’ve written about my riding lessons. I don’t even remember if I’ve ever mentioned that I’m riding a new mare, Meritage.
I rode her once or twice when she was still fairly new to the riding school and the barn, and she was pretty… untrained. She was fast, had mouth issues and didn’t like having different riders on her all the time. But damn has she come a long way from that! She’s amazing now, still has little issues but what would be the fun in riding if there wasn’t something to improve on?
Right now we’re working on frame and suppleness in her body. Her conformation is rather crooked and bent so we’re working on helping her become more straight and balanced. My coach took pictures of me riding last night to show me the progress and they look amazing! We’re having communication errors on the sending of those pictures though, otherwise I would be posting them with this!
