Life :: Wedding Bliss

Pretty green and black

One wedding down, two more to go.

It was so exciting to finally remember a wedding! Krista looked so beautiful, and all the guys looked so dapper. It was the perfect day and weather for a wedding.

Being as I haven’t ever really been to a wedding, I don’t really have anything to base this on, but this wedding seemed to go by really quick. Other than the slight glitch with Krista being a bit late due to driver issues, everything else ran pretty smooth. When she arrived, the ceremony got cracking, I thought it was interesting that the groomsmen went up the aisle, then the groom with his mom, then Jeff (groom) went back to get the sister of the bride, and then waited at the front for Krista. Then the flower girls and ring bearer, then the bridesmaids went through. Then Krista made her grand entrance. She wore a great strapless ballgown style dress, your typical wedding dress. I’m a little less traditional than her tastes ran, but it was still stunning.

Then, after a quick recitation of vows, some quotes from the Bible, and sealing it with a kiss, they were man and wife, walking down the aisle hand in hand. Then they went to go take family pictures, and everyone started making their way to the reception for some hors d’oeurves. I only ate a couple, and found our table [which was awesome, definitely good arrangement on their end!]. Then dinner was served, the bridal party made their entrance, and we continued eating while speeches happened. None of the speeches went over 3 minutes. Dinner was prompt, delicious and super filling. I think I only ate one piece of chicken, if that, out of 3 pieces. Dessert was delicious, they chose strawberry shortcake as their wedding cake. Om nom.

Then it went start into dancing and more drinking (not on my part) but it was so much fun. It was literally like being back at KCAT pub nights, dancing away to Brown Eyed Girl, Timbaland, and the Cha Cha Slide, add in some country and some of today’s hits and you’ve got a great night happening for me. The simple things make me happy. Definitely looking forward to this Saturday’s wedding!

And in a side note, one of the guys I used to hang out with in high school also got married that day. Crazy!
