Toronto :: Exploring Trinity Bellwoods

Trinity Bellwoods has been an area that I’ve wanted to explore for close to 3 years I think. And I’ve finally done it!

Friday was spent meandering around the Trinity Bellwoods area, and it was during the day so things were open and I could just browse as I saw fit. Not that I did much browsing with my monstrous overnight bag, but the thought was there.

The first stop that day was breakfast and coffee. We stopped in at a little cafe that was really non-descript, but it was close and it got good reviews on Google. And yes, the reviews were definitely good! The cafe, Full of Beans, was a cute couple run cafe. Full of delicious smelling roasted coffee that they roast themselves, with cute chalkboard listings of what they serve. I chose a chai latte, and their savoury platter number 3. It was the perfect combo. The chai latte was delicious, foam the perfect consistency. The food platter was amazing: crisp carrots, crunchy almonds [which I had substituted instead of olives], veggie pate, and crackers.

I was interested in looking up a vintage store, but sadly it was closed. So we ended up walking through the park, and sitting on a bench overlooking the leash-free dog park. It brought up memories of high school because of the guys playing hacky-sack as well. We chatted, and then continued our walk onwards. Walking along Queen St is probably one of my favourite things to do in Toronto, next to walking through Yorkville. It’s full of vintage shops, one-of-a-kind stores, kitschy stores, coffee shops, and of course regular main stream shops. Window browsing until we hit another coffee shop that I’ve been dying to visit, Dark Horse Cafe. Delicious.  Another Chai latte with cinnamon, but it was such the perfect sweetness, it didn’t even need it. But I love my cinnamon. Mm.

Briana then had an appointment so we headed back to the subway and parted ways there. We definitely have more plans to head into the downtown core and explore more parts of Toronto this summer. And perhaps finally make it to some of the beaches there!
