Beauty :: Trying Organic

Ok, so I realize that like 6 months ago I was all over Vichy’s line of products, and then I just purchased Dr. Jart+’s Water Mask, but I think I’m going to start trying to save myself some money, and move to DIY and organic style face cleansers.

This is going to be extremely tough for me because I love brand name. I’m a self-acknowledged brand whore. So going from expensive label to no label… will definitely be an adjustment. One that my wallet will definitely enjoy and hopefully my face will too.

I’ve tried some Lush products, but haven’t really been wowed by them, especially at the price. Plus sometimes they’re just to fragrant for me and make my nose itchy!

So right now, I’m currently doing a mish-mash of things. I’m still using my Vichy products because they aren’t hurting my skin any. And I need to use them up before I switch over completely to organic, so this is going to be a process.

My new routine is Vichy products in the morning, baking soda at night with Dr. Jart+. It’s nothing special, just adding the baking soda into my routine. I find that it makes my skin feel so soft, and the Dr. Jart+ helps keep my skin from getting overly dried out. I’m also starting to use the Palmer’s Cocoa oil on some dark spots on my face, as well as making sure I have sunscreen on so the sun doesn’t darken them either! I find that the baking soda is helping with those annoying little clogged pores that never seem to go away, so that’s a plus! Gosh, being a girl is tough! This might be coming at a good time, because with summer means my face will break out more due to sweat [ew, yuck].

Eventually, I’m going to try going completely natural, using witch hazel as a toner and pure aloe cream. We shall see how that goes. I definitely know that my wallet will sigh in relief if I stop using expensive products. But don’t worry, I can still splurge on my make-up!
