Toronto :: Dundas West Fest

Here’s to another Toronto event that Briana and I made it downtown for! Yay! Now, this happened 2 Saturdays ago, I’ve been remiss in my posting about it.

We decided to meet at one of the subway stops, as she was meeting someone about an exchange of trades, and then we headed down together. It was rather interesting. We got off on the wrong stop, walked random streets until we finally hit something, and then excitingly arrived at the beginning of the Fest. There were teams of soccer players playing street soccer, kids getting their faces painted, stores out on the sidewalk and delicious smelling food everywhere. We were smart and didn’t bring any money because other we would have spent too much.

We wrote our names in chalk, watched the buskers, and went into this cool restaurant for lunch only to realize that it totally wasn’t our style of food [at all]. So we exited stage left and continued walking until we hit our new favourite cafe for some healthy munchies and a latte. All while listening to the live music that was playing right outside the cafe. Lots of people were walking around with dogs, so we chatted with one guy and pet his adorable dog that he adopted from Cuba.

We heard this young kid with an amazing voice and stage presence belt out a couple tunes, and he was adorable! Looked around at the garage sale-style shops and saw this vintage Coach that I definitely don’t need, it was a good thing I didn’t bring money. As always, I have such a great time out with Briana, after meandering through the crowds for a good couple hours, we decided that it was time to head back to the ‘burbs.

We headed to my apartment, sat in the emptiness while enjoying a cup of tea, and then decided that we were starving and she recommended this Pho place. I was down and it’s the best pho ever. Definitely converted, and definitely addicted. We actually spent the entire day together, and after dinner went back to her place and listened to music. She was showing me her music tastes [a little bit hard for me], and vice versa.

It was a lot of fun, and I went home around 11.30. It was a pretty great event, and I think if it happens again next year, I’d definitely return! It’s a pretty area with delicious coffee shops!
