Recap :: Weekend No. 32

Ahh… the weekend. Nothing like 2 long weekends in a row!! Thursday.. was beyond stressful though. I woke up that morning and did some last minute packing, realized that I was getting a UTI, and harassed my doctor into sending me a prescription. ALL DAY. I even got my mom to harass them. But alas, by the time I finished work, they still hadn’t sent it in. I was in such a foul mood all day. I wanted to say, No, I’m not going to the cottage after that day, but I sucked it up and went. I finally got to Andrew’s grandparents house by 8.30ish that night… It was hellish. Thank God my dad was able to drive me around. It was his grandpa’s 90th birthday so I went in and said happy birthday, and we talked for a bit and had a drink, and then headed out. We went and picked up his brother, and his friend Ryan, and then headed out on our journey.

We finally arrived at his cottage, because they wanted to bring a snowmobile home to sell, we stayed the night there, and pretty much went straight to bed. So tired!! Friday morning we wake up and tidy up any mess that we made, and head to Ryan’s cottage. Thomas drove Andrew’s truck there, and we went via boat, which made my hair ridiculously tangled, but was fun regardless. I met Ryan’s parents and then we ate breakfast and chilled on the beach all day. Then we went for a boat trip to Kyleigh’s cottage, and chilled there until they arrived, and then went back for lunch, hot tubbing, and napping. Around 9 we headed back over to Kyleigh’s for her going away party, and hung out there and drank and partied, and talked with HJ (who is newly engaged!!) and bunch of other people there. I had a good time, but felt really old because by 12.30 I was so tired! I don’t drink, so I don’t even get that bit of random drunken energy. It was really good fun though, I got over my tiredness, and just chilled. Although when we got back to Ryan’s, we all just passed out. Ryan was so funny though, he kept telling us that we could go canoodle and stuff. Not that we did, but it was nice of him? Haha.

The Saturday morning we slowly got our stuff together and left for home again. We had to get back for Andrew’s grandpa’s 90th, so we just made it. People had already arrived by the time that we got there and we all still had to shower. It was interesting mix of people, a lot of family, some family friends. I enjoyed myself, Andrew was mingling with people so I didn’t see him that much, his mom and dad were busy getting food ready etc. so I chilled with this one lady, Joyce, his brother, and his brother’s godparents. His Nana thought that I was their oldest daughter, haha so cute. She was like “Oh I didn’t realize it was you! I thought you were so-and-so.” We mingled for a couple hours, ate food, talked, and then had to head out to go see Billy Elliott! So exciting. Andrew said that people liked me, and that Joyce really liked me (which is awesome) and then we headed downtown.

Billy Elliott was amazing. The dancing is just ridiculous, they are so talented. Very much like the movie, but better because it was live. Not really Andrew’s scene, but he enjoyed it enough to put up with it. Hah, best. Afterwards, it was about 11ish, it was so nice out, and we were right at Dundas Sq, so we went and got milkshakes (so gooood) and stood and watched people in the square. It was really cheesy romantic (I loved it) as we were just standing there, kissing. It was like a movie. Haha made me so happy. Kind of sad because it was our last night together, as he was leaving the next morning. We headed home at about 11.45 and he stayed the night. Which I’m glad, even though he had to be up at 5.30 in the morning, he left at 6. I never thought I’d be such a sap, but it was so sad to see him leave. I went back to bed though, so tired. I had the laziest day, as he was on a plane.

Considering how the weekend started, it turned out to be an awesome weekend that I’m glad I didn’t miss.
xoxo
