My Top 5 Summer Skincare Products for Busy Moms

Summer Chaos with My Boys
Happy Summer Solstice! Summer’s here, and I’m juggling my boys’ chaos, barn time, and a busy mom skincare routine that actually works. How do you survive summer as a busy mom? I always like to see how homeschooling works for us over the summer (spoiler: it doesn’t).
I ended the school year strong with my routine for the boys, and I don’t want to lose it. So the main priority for me is to maintain the routines I already have in place.
One of those is my summer skincare! I’ve got less time so it’ll be just the bare minimum to keep my skin happy.
My Pared-Down Summer Skincare Routine
- Lavigne Botanical Cleanser**: This lightweight gem cleans deep without stripping, perfect for sweaty barn days.
- Lavigne Scalp Therapy** – This helps keep my hair healthy, revives it, and will moisturise my scalp to prevent summertime flaking.
- Truly Tallow Sunshield – Natural sun protection for myself and the boys is a must! I forgot to put it on the boys already and they all got a little too much this past weekend. Oops.
- Takesumi Detox Charcoal bar – It’s that time of year where the sweat and oils build up! And everyone is a little stinkier. So I’m busting out this bar to give an extra boost to our deodorants
- Charlotte Tilbury Face Powder – When I’m leaving the house, I’ll dust a little of this on to help cut the shine
I’m naturally oily in the summertime so I’m not looking to overload my skin with products. Blotting papers are also key for me in this summer humidity! And then the dreaded A/C comes on, and I’m sweating yet freezing. My worst enemy!
Are you doing anything special to welcome in summer? I’ve been feeling the seasonal pull to deep clean and get everything sorted; winter is put away for the next couple months! I love a solstice ritual.
A Solstice Ritual to Reset
Have a bath, light some nice smelling candles (floral, if that’s what you’re into). Throw a hair and face mask on, I’m really enjoying the Lavigne Le Masque** right now and will be slathering that on my face tonight! Bring a journal along, and write down a few summer intentions. Summer is about longer days, growth and blooming. We’re also coming up to a New Moon (in Gemini). It’s the perfect time to renew your sense of purpose and have meaningful conversations. even if those conversations are ones you’ve been putting off with yourself!
For me, it’s enjoying the days in the sun with my boys, hanging out with friends, and watching them grow. I’ll be putting in the hard work for some of the ideas ruminating around in my head so that I can see them come to fruition in the fall.
Set Your Summer Intentions
The intentions don’t have to be big or lofty. Even something small like enjoying a cup of tea in the sunrise hours is beautiful. Think about the small things in your life that you are grateful for, and enjoy.
Let me know if you plan on doing this tonight or tomorrow!
