Last Friday, Andrew’s buddy Fusco was celebrating his birthday, and he decided to have it at the new country bar that is in town. Going to a country bar has been on my 101 in 1001 list now, and I can finally check that bad boy off! It’s nice to have one right downtown Toronto, so I don’t have to go all the way to Georgetown or Guelph for one.
Andrew and I met up with Mikey and his girlfriend, Ana before the club for some dinner. We ended up at a Sushi restaurant on Queen St – SushiXtra and it was so delicious! We ordered so much food but it was perfect for before going and drinking. Lots of carbs! We then headed to the club for 9.30 arrival – Trust me when I say this isn’t too early for this place! If you arrive before 9.30 and have your name on the guestlist it’s no cover and no line! Wait just another hour, and the line outside is more than an hour wait. Getting in early always beats waiting in line. And the bar is pretty crowded even at 9.30.
I think that the highlight of this night was the fact that they had a mechanical bull. Oh yes, one that I even went on, and lasted 44 seconds. That 44 seconds was pretty darn awesome, it even earned me a free drink from the boys standing behind me. Bonus! I have video, but that’s not making its way onto here… yet. Maybe. Undecided as I still need to watch it. Regardless, I knew that if I didn’t ride that bull I would regret it after I left. Besides the fact that it left bruises on my shins for a week, it was totally worth it. Too bad that wasn’t on my 101 in 1001 list.
I had a great night, dancing to old favourites and new songs that I’d never heard before. Dancing with the guys and dancing by myself. Sometimes, you can’t deny the groove in your feet. I can’t wait to go back. And maybe next time, we’ll go there for dinner since their food sounds absolutely delicious!
