Life :: First Post of 2011

Wow. I’ve taken my sweet ass time to post up in 2011. Compared to this time last year, I’m severely slacking.

Some interesting things have been happening. I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching and needing to crack down and get some planning done. I’ve decided that this year I’m going to do more, and take more time for myself; save my money to figure out what I’m going to do with my life (growing up); and I want to travel.

This will be the year that I actually go on a vacation. (Or two or three)

This will be the year that I will start saving towards my future and retirement.

This will be the year that I decide what I want to do with my future, and what direction I want to go in.

This will be the year of years. I’m very excited.

This year has already been off to a very good start. At work, I got offered another job opportunity. It’s something that I kind of got offered when I first started, but turned down then. I wasn’t ready yet to give up on the Assembly and hands on side of life. But now I’m ready to branch off again into what I would like to become my field of work. My career, if you will. I got offered a full time position as Reception/Administration Assistant. It requires a little more training (which is always a good thing to have and do in life) and it’ll be good to get back into the swing of things for Administration. I’m very excited to get started, I start the end of January!! This is such a great opportunity, and I’m going to fully take advantage of it. They are making it hard for me to leave… Hopefully that this good luck keeps on until my annual work review. I don’t think it’ll go bad, but I’ve never had one before. This is so exciting. I feel like a real working person now. [haha]

This will help me with deciding what I want and be able to put away for my future. I bought the book “Never Too Late” by Gail Vaz-Oxlade. She’s amazing. I love watching her shows and how to get people back on track. I’ve always wanted one of her books but they were always about getting out of debt. As I am not in debt, I don’t need that book. I wanted one on retirement funds. And what do about them. How to start them, and what is the best direction for me to go in. I definitely need to get my ass in gear.

Will I be able to make the decisions? This year won’t be easy. But it will be so enjoyable when I can reap all the rewards that hopefully will come from my hard work. I’m a Capricorn, hard work should come as second nature to me!
xoxo
