Life :: Apartment Hunting Day 2

Via Tumblr. I wish my apartment was that big….
Ah. Saturday was spent looking at apartments with Andrew, and saw lots! It’s hard to keep track of them all so I took meticulous notes about each of them. I was looking in pretty much the same area for all the apartments, and most of them were the same. Same price range, same rough layout, just the size and storage space and the level of apartment changed.
Apartment No. 3:
This one was a little more on the pricier side of life, at $ 1000.00 a month, everything included. This one was a higher rise building, with 17 floors and the available suite on the 15th floor. Super high! It had a nice balcony, but no bbq’s allowed. Lots of storage, decent – larger sized rooms with coin laundry. The super was really nice as well and it was definitely a contender. My only real issue was the price. A thousand is that the high end of my budget!
Apartment No. 4:
This one was $ 975.00 a month, and was located on the 4th floor. The building itself was getting upgraded, but there were lots of kids in the building. Animals as well, as the neighbour beside the unit was yelling at his yappy dog. As we left, Andrew said if we live there I might have to kill it. The unit was probably the smallest that we saw, even though the balcony was probably one of the biggest. But, balcony’s aren’t my strongest deciding factor.
Apartment No. 5:
This one was also $ 975.00 a month, and a lower rise building. It was on the top (7th) floor and really quiet. Nice along the back of the building so it had trees and was really quite private. The only thing was it was smallish, and was kind of a random set up. The linen closet was in the bedroom, and the hallways were a littler dark. Not a huge deal if Andrew’s with me, but if I’m walking it alone to do laundry? Not as fun. The area wasn’t as ideal, as it’s right beside the highway, even though you couldn’t hear it. For the cost, I’d prefer the other area better. Although Andrew liked this one.
Apartment No. 6:
We then headed just a little further down the road, to a little more expensive (once everything was included in there). On the third floor, it was pretty nice. It would have been a contender but the sister building was in a nicer location. Although, if I were truly desperate and no other options, this would have been great.
Apartment No. 7:
This was the last apartment that I saw that was new, and it was the sister building to No. 6. It was nice, the rent was good, quiet building. 7th Floor, the balcony wasn’t a screen sliding door, just a door with a window (which is nice as well) and only had 3 closets. Lots of cupboards in the kitchen and it was a good size. The laundry room was upgraded with the smart card technology (always nice) and was pet friendly.

Then after all these, I took Andrew back to the one with the walk-in closet, and I knew. This was the one. I decided!! I’m headed there tonight with all the paperwork, and hopefully will get accepted. Everything should be alright, because I have a good credit rating. Andrew liked this one as well, and it was the largest and the cheapest. I just need to find out about their visitor parking rules.. So I will ask about that tonight.

Super, super exciting!!!! This is moving along so much quicker than anticipated. And here I was, worrying that I wouldn’t find anything! If all goes well, I’ll be moved out and into the new place by next week. GAHH. Have to start packing now!
