A hunting we will go. I have 7 apartments to check out this weekend. Insaneee. And a huge relief off my shoulders to know that I am actually seeing some. I have a pretty basic checklist.
- One Bedroom
- Storage
- A decent size
- A good price (under $ 1000.00)
- Pet friendly
- Utilities included
- Halfway between Andrew and my places now
I went this morning to see two with my Mom, and one was a YES and the second was a MEH. I’m super pumped that some are actually amazing. I have five more to see tomorrow, and I’m going to see then with Andrew.
Apartment No. 1:
Great location, and a really good size apartment. I liked the size and the layout. The kitchen wasn’t huge, but it has a dining area so it’s not really a big deal if the kitchen is smaller. As long as I can cook, it’s all good. There was a good balcony that got lots of sun, and it had windows and a screen door so it also let light and air in, which is nice. The bedroom was the piece de resistance. Large, and WALK-IN CLOSET!! I’m so pumped for that. And it’s not super high, which is nice because then I don’t have to wait 20 minutes for the elevator to get my ass downstairs. Really, really liking this one. I love the layout and the fact that there is lots of storage. Definitely a contender!!
Apartment No. 2:
This one, the location was almost better because it was closer to Port Credit downtown, and cute restaurants within walking distance, but the apartment was smaller and more expensive. The closet was smaller, and the room was smaller, but it also had a nice balcony and the screen door. This one had a bigger kitchen, but it made the layout of the living room have more angles, and smaller. There was a lot of storage in the main living area, but the bedroom’s was super small. It was on the top floor, and I’m not sure how I feel about that. The elevators took awhile to come, although I wouldn’t have anyone living above me. Which might be nice? Tough to say. But because the place was smaller and more expensive… I might have to rule this one out.
