A Russian fairy tale certainly envokes the ‘Frozen Fables’ theme perfectly.
I won’t lie, my first thought went to Disney’s Frozen for this theme (but that’s because I’m a Mom and we watch that at least once every couple weeks). Also, the colour theme matches!
While nothing is inspired by those movies, the Frozen Fables theme is clearly present.
Am I a bad reader if I’ve never read any of the books that this box is inspired by?
A MUG!! Love me a good mug. This one is very pretty with the snowflake inside. I’m, of course, a sucker for horses too.
I wish that my phone case was more conducive to having a phone ring holder… I miss having one! But currently it would ruin the aesthetic of my case. But I think I’ll be putting it on sooner than later… I like having the security of knowing I can’t drop it!
I’ve also mentioned that I’ve enjoyed getting socks as part of the box, so it’s always fun to get these. I love the little fox on these ones. Plus, I’m a sucker for these colours. These socks are always so comfy and fit so well. The book socks are my go-to in my drawer now a days.
I love a good notebook. This foiled notebook has blank pages which makes it nice to use for a lot of different things. The pages have a nice weight to them, so would be good use as a bullet journal too. Or for art.
I’m not as keen on hair accessories, but mainly because I don’t use them. The headband is pretty but I never think that they suit me! I love a good art print too, I can’t wait until I can display them somewhere!
The March ‘Frozen Fables’ themed book is The Bright and The Pale by Jessica Rubinkowski.
Seventeen-year-old Valeria is one of the only survivors of the freeze, a dark magical hold Knnot Mountain unleashed over her village. Everyone, including her family, is trapped in an unbreakable sheet of ice. Ever since, she’s been on the run from the Czar, who is determined to imprison any who managed to escape. Valeria finds refuge with the Thieves Guild, doing odd jobs with her best friend Alik, the only piece of home she has left.
That is until he is brutally murdered.
A year later, she discovers Alik is alive and being held against his will. To buy his freedom, she must lead a group of cutthroats and thieves on a perilous expedition to the very mountain that claimed her family. Only something sinister slumbers in the heart of Knnot.
And it has waited years for release.

So this sounds amazing! I’m not really knowledgeable about Russian fairytales so I have absolutely no frame of reference for this book. I like the idea that while it takes from certain mythos and fairy tales, it’s not a retelling of one specific one. I’m looking forward to diving into this one!
Another edition Fairyloot just hits out of the park. So stunning!
Next month’s theme is Hidden Identities and I can’t wait!
