Book :: Memoirs of Mary, Queen of Scots

I really enjoy this author. Carolly Erickson is a very good story teller. She weaves historical facts into a readable novel. Are all the facts 100% true? Maybe not, but most of it has something to do with what really happened. Or as much as any of us know.

Going into these books I never really actually know what happens. I didn’t take history in high school [or any school] so my knowledge is sketchy at best. It does bother me a little that I don’t really know much about any history, but I’m working on it. Maybe these books aren’t totally the best thing, but it is something that I can swallow a bit better than tomes of knowledge.

I would definitely recommend this book [and any of her others] because it’s light, easy to read, and easy to absorb. Won’t be winning any history awards, but hey, that’s not what I read for. Has anyone else read anything by this author? What do you think?
