Feral Is The Beast is an ARC that I received for review, but that does not change my thoughts about the book!
I’m a huge fan of Nisha J Tuli and loved the first one. We all know I’m a fan of standalone books set in a same-world situation!
Feral Is The Beast by Nisha J. Tuli
The Feral King thinks he’ll break me. But I will break him first.
I’m a 400-year-old witch covered in tattoos—the source of my magic—but I’ve been hiding them for years, trying to escape my past.
After spending centuries at the mercy of royals who thirst only for power and the desire to make up for their less impressive “assets,” I refuse to be used as a tool for evil ever again.
It’s any other night in my apothecary when the Feral King—a beast who eats the local villagers for sport—kidnaps me and demands my help.
When I deny him, he tries to torture me into compliance, but pain and I are long-acquainted friends, and I will never be the one who falls.
This is a high-heat immortal witch and mortal man age-gap fantasy romance with enemies to lovers and forced proximity. Perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Raven Kennedy, or Jennifer L. Armentrout. Feral is the Beast is book 2 in Cursed Captors, a series of interconnected standalone stories.
Goodread
Girrrrrlllll, the SPICE.
I LOVED Wicked Is The Reaper, so I knew as soon as Nisha J Tuli sent out that she had the sequel I was going to jump on it. I’m a huge fan of hers, so I’m excited to review this one before it is released.
This one is SPICY, with an age gap where the woman is older, Beauty and the Beast retelling. I love retellings and was intrigued by the reverse gender age gap trope.
I love Nisha’s writing. This is a short read, only 186 pages, but doesn’t feel rushed with the plot, and everything feels fully fleshed out.
The book starts with lots of spice right out of the gate. I can sometimes be on the fence about tattoo romances, but this one was well done. Vespera is an immortal witch in hiding, and of course, is found out and kidnapped for her skills by the Feral King.
I enjoyed their enemies-to-lovers banter, I liked that she was older and experienced and Ferran, the young, cursed mortal king. He has a noble reason for his actions, and he’s trying to do his best. He’s golden retriever energy even if he’s trying to be mean about it.
I’m the predator in his midst. A demon of my own kind. I will help him tame his beast because I believe his cause is sound, but I want something in return. And I always get what I want,
Vespera, Feral Is The Beast
It’s nice to have a confident, self-assured woman taking the lead and getting what she wants. Oooo-eee. *fans self* There’s a little bit of angst but it’s a HEA. It was a refreshing read; one that I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend!
Nisha J. Tuli is an author who’s quickly becoming a “she writes it, I buy it” author on my shelf!
Feral Is The Beast needs to be added to your TBR, stat! It’s out March 20, 2024, so get on that!
