Eating healthy at home with kids?
Sometimes that just seems impossible. Especially when it feels like all you do during the day is create snacks for them, lunch and breakfast for myself just seems to get forgotten.
When Evive reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try a couple of their smoothies, I literally jumped at the chance. I definitely knew about this company before they reached out to me, so it was awesome to be able to finally try out their product. The idea of getting a smoothie without having to have the ingredients on hand OR use a blender? Sign me up!
So what makes Evive stand out?
Honestly? The number one reason these guys stand out for me is the convenience. The fact that I’m not wasting ingredients because I didn’t end up making a smoothie that week, or I’m not creating extra cleaning to wash the blender is a huge bonus.
Even better that they deliver straight to your door. I’m all for the extra convenience of not having to leave my house.
Ordering online is super easy and it ships quickly! They do have it set up as a subscription service, so every few weeks you get shipped 12, 24, or 36 items (depending on your choices). You can pause, cancel, or change it at anytime.
As a mom with 2 kids under 4, who’s got time for extra work?
Health-wise, the fact that they typically have quite a bit of protein in their smoothies is the deciding factor. I usually don’t eat breakfast and sometimes even skip out on lunch but having a smoothie with extra protein? Done.
The flavours are amazing, they taste as good as they look. I love the vibrant colours of the smoothies and they all taste amazing. Even the green smoothies are absolutely delicious and I’ve never been able to deal with a non-fruit based smoothie.
The guide that they come with is extremely helpful with tips on how to serve it (what liquid goes best) and how many cubes to use. While most do well with either just water or a milk alternative they do offer other choices. I like that you don’t need to much liquid to get the perfect consistency.
Typically I use the whole wheel at a time, but depending on how hungry I am half a wheel would be fine too. For kids, I’d probably use only 2 cubes instead since they usually don’t drink as much.
They also have a lunch option!
Evive now has 3 lunch options: Mac Squash, Tom Thai, and Bam Chili. These are incredibly easy to make and extremely flavourful!
The Bam Chili has a nice spice to it without being overpowering. Depending on your kids, it might be fine but I think it might be a bit spicy for my toddler who is a bit more dramatic.
The Mac Squash looks like a great mac and cheese alternative to Kraft Dinner/processed box pastas. I’m looking forward to making that for a lunch or dinner side this weekend!
I haven’t tried the Tom Thai yet but would probably put that one over noodles because noodles are life.
These are great vegan, gluten-free, dairy free options for meals and definitely filling.
I definitely will be repurchasing these guys once I’m finished! I’m so glad that I was able to try them and there’s no going back! Evive is also available in certain grocery stores now, so check out their site to find a location near you if you want to try them first before purchasing online.
What are your thoughts on these easy, blender-free smoothies?
